Crazy golf venue planner

Planning a crazy golf venue?

See it before you build it. Lay the course out in your actual building, to scale. Check walkways, headroom and fire exits as you go, see how many players an hour it can take, and fly through it in 3D before you sign a lease.

How many players can it take, and what might they spend?

Change any number and the working updates. These are your assumptions, not ours: the defaults are typical figures for a UK indoor venue, and every result shows the sum behind it.

What the planner checks

The spacing mistakes you'd rather find on screen

As you place holes, walls and fittings, the planner measures the gaps and flags anything that needs another look.

  • 1.2 mWalkwaysClear walkways between holes, walls and fittings, so groups can pass a group that's putting.
  • 0.9 mStep-free routeA route at least this wide from the entrance to every tee, the bar and the toilets, for wheelchairs and buggies.
  • +0.3 mCeiling vs obstaclesHeadroom above the tallest obstacle on each hole (a windmill stands 2.1 m), and 2.4 m clear for players anywhere.
  • 8 mFlow orderHole 1 within 10 m of the entrance, each cup within 8 m of the next tee, and the last hole within 10 m of the bar.
  • 1.2 × 1.5 mFire exitsKept clear in front of every exit, with every hole within about 45 m of one.

Rules of thumb for early planning, not a building-regulations, fire-safety or accessibility compliance check. Get a fire risk assessment and building control advice before you build. More in how much space a crazy golf course needs.

What you take away

Everything the landlord, the bank and the builder will ask for

  • Fly-through video

A 3D walk from the front door, round every hole, to the bar. Lit the way you'll light it, from daylight to UV neon.

  • Dimensioned floor plan

A PDF of the site with every hole, walkway and fitting measured, numbered in playing order, ready for your builder and landlord.

  • Capacity & revenue sheet

Round time, players per hour and takings per day, week and year, with your assumptions and the formula for each line.

  • One-page summary

The plan, a 3D still, the headline numbers and the checks on one page, for an investor or landlord who won't read more than that.

Then press “Get quotes to build this”: send us your plan and hole list and we'll put you in touch with crazy golf builders, so every quote starts from the same drawing. (We're lining builders up now: early requests get a personal reply.)

Questions

Straight answers

Is the venue planner free?

Yes. Drawing your site, placing holes, the checks, the 3D view and the estimator are all free. You only pay when you export: the PRO pass is £149, one-off, per venue project, and unlocks the fly-through video, the dimensioned floor plan PDF, the capacity and revenue sheet and the one-page summary.

Is the revenue estimate a forecast?

No. An estimate from your own assumptions, not a forecast. Gross takings before VAT, staff, rent, stock and fit-out costs. Check local demand before committing money. Every assumption is yours to change, and every formula is shown next to its result.

Does it check building regulations or fire safety?

No. Rules of thumb for early planning, not a building-regulations, fire-safety or accessibility compliance check. Get a fire risk assessment and building control advice before you build. The checks are there to catch the obvious early: a walkway under 1.2 m, a fire exit with something in front of it, a windmill taller than your ceiling allows.

Can I plan my own building?

Yes. Start from a template (a warehouse unit, a pub garden, a holiday park or a garden centre) or draw your site's outline to scale, set the ceiling height, then place holes, the entrance, the ticket desk, the bar, toilets and fire exits.

Where do the holes come from?

Any hole you design in the game, or the 9 starters. Each one lands on the plan at its real footprint, and you can play it with real ball physics before you commit to building it.

Can you build it for me?

We don't build courses ourselves. The planner's “Get quotes to build this” button sends us your plan and hole list, and we'll put you in touch with crazy golf builders who can quote from the same drawing. We're lining builders up now, so early requests get a personal reply.

How much space do I need?

As a planning range, 25–50 m² per hole including walkways, with 35 m² typical. A 9-hole indoor course needs roughly 225–450 m². The space guide has a full table.

Walk the course before you build it.

Open the Neon Warehouse template and change it into your venue, or draw your own building from scratch.
